OTT service HBO Max, which is fresh off the heels after the widespread acclaim of James Gunn’s superhero show ‘Peacemaker’ starring John Cena, has roped in a truly talented cast for its upcoming original movie titled ‘The Parenting’. The horror comedy film will see the likes of Brian Cox (Succession), Lisa Kudrow (Friends), Edie Falco (The Sopranos), and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) sharing screen space.

The underlying plotline of ‘The Parenting’ revolves around a young couple named Graham and Josh who host their parents at a rented countryside house for a perfect weekend getaway. Things take an interesting turn when they discover that the cottage is haunted by a 400-year-old poltergeist. The movie is being helmed by Craig Wilson, whose previous directorial credits include ‘True Adolescents’, ‘The Skeleton Twins’, and ‘Alex Strangelove’, amongst others.

‘Succession’ star Brian Cox is a veteran Scottish actor who had bagged a Primetime Emmy Award for the 2000 war drama ‘Nuremberg’ and a Golden Globe for the critically acclaimed series ‘Succession’ where he plays Logan Roy, the billionaire founder of media giant Waystar Roy Co. Besides, Brian Cox is also known for his performances in ‘Manhunter’, Mel Gibson’s ‘Braveheart’, ‘X-Men 2’, and ‘The Bourne Identity’, to name a few. His forthcoming projects include the action film ‘The Jesuit’, ‘Unsinkable’ series, and ‘Prisoner’s Daughter’, etc.

Prior to the upcoming horror comedy film ‘The Parenting’, HBO Max had previously been home to some original films like Steven Soderbergh’s tech-thriller ‘Kimi’ and the star-studded period crime thriller ‘No Sudden Move’, high school drama ‘The Fallout’, and ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’, etc. Its upcoming films’ slate includes the DCEU superhero film ‘Batgirl’, the fifth ‘Evil Dead’ movie, and comedy-drama ‘Am I OK’.
