Bridgerton Is Shattering Viewership Records For Breakfast

People have always been fascinated by the Victorian and Regency eras, and to capitalize on that, Netflix created one of its most successful shows in its history. As the third season of the show runs wild, it proves just how important “Bridgerton” is for Netflix.

A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that “Bridgerton” has contributed over £250 million to the U.K. economy since its 2020 debut, benefiting over 5,000 local businesses.

Keeping the money aside, it brings viewership like no other series in recent times. Season 3 of the show has entered the top 10 charts of Netflix’s most-viewed shows, kicking “Baby Reindeer” out. To show how dominant “Bridgerton” really is, you must realize that Seasons 1 and 2 were already up there.

Regarding viewership, Season 3 has garnered 91.90 million views. Season 1 of the show is hovering in fourth place with 113.30 million views, and the second season is in ninth place with 93.80 million views.

With the show already renewed for a fourth season, it would be surprising if it doesn’t maintain its place in the top 10 charts. Additionally, the show has no plans to slow down, as it has the potential to cover all the books by Julia Quinn, so you can expect at least a season 6 or 7.

Shonda Rhimes’ Netflix shows have garnered significant viewership. “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” debuted on July 23, 2023, at No. 10 on Netflix’s Most Popular List with 80.30 million views and remained there for 28 weeks, ending with 81.3 million views.

“Bridgerton’s” first season, released on Christmas Day 2020, achieved cultural phenomenon status, accumulating 5.7 billion impressions in 45 days.

The show’s success boosted the social media presence of its stars and increased sales of the book “Romancing Mister Bridgerton” by 626%. “Inventing Anna” also made Netflix’s Most Popular List in March 2022.
