Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has teased her MCU return via Avengers 5 and 6, better known as Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. As we are slowly inching towards the culmination of Phase Five, we are nowhere near the end of the Multiverse Saga. Phase Six, which includes the Blade reboot, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the climactic Avengers films, promises to be packed with action. Captain Marvel could play a crucial role in wrapping up the Multiverse Saga through her appearances in these upcoming Avengers movies.
In her recent appearance on the Bingeworthy (The Playlist) podcast, Larson was asked about Captain Marvel’s return to the MCU, particularly in Doomsday and Secret Wars. The actor did not reveal anything specific but did tease something intriguing. Check out her statement below!
“I can’t say anything and I can’t even say that I don’t know anything because that might mean that there’s something to say or not say. So I’ll just say that I can’t say.”
Surprisingly, Brie Larson was not a part of Marvel’s panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Yes, her last MCU project, The Marvels, performed disastrously at the global box office. But her character arc still needs a fitting conclusion in the MCU. Both Doomsday and Secret Wars could help in this scenario. We all know that The Marvels’ post-credits scene showed her surprising encounter with Kelsey Grammer’s Beast. That particular scene could pave the way for Captain Marvel toward Doomsday and Secret Wars, given that X-Men are rumoured to appear in both of these grand projects too.
Apart from Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom and the entire cast of The Fantastic Four, no new additions have been announced for Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated to enter the production stage in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
