Yeah, you read that right! We all love Wilson Fisk, a.k .a. Kingpin. Vincent D’Onofrio’s take on the iconic Marvel villain has been mesmerising and outstanding so far. We have watched him playing the role of Kingpin for nearly a decade now. And a large portion of the Marvel fanbase wants to see him in a full-fledged role in the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. However, there is one character who needs and deserves more spotlight than Kingpin. His name is Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, a.k .a. Bullseye.
Wilson Bethel was amazing as Bullseye in Daredevil Season 3. His near-perfect and bone-chilling take on the prominent Marvel character received acclaim from critics and fans. Poindexter’s overall character arc was well-handled by the show’s writing department. However, we did not see him transform completely into Bullseye.
We witnessed the trio of Poindexter, Daredevil, and Kingpin fighting with one another during the final moments of Season 3. In that fight, Kingpin breaks Poindexter’s back before getting defeated by Daredevil. This leads to Season 3’s final scene, where Poindexter opens his eyes during surgery. Soon, we see his iris transforming into bullseyes, teasing his transformation into the infamous Marvel villain. Nearly five years have passed since Season 3’s release on Netflix. And we are yet to witness Bullseye in his prime.
Making Bullseye Daredevil: Born Again’s primary antagonist will resolve the ending of Daredevil Season 3. In addition, this scenario may stop the showrunners from overutilising Kingpin in the forthcoming Disney+ series. Kevin Feige and his team plan to treat Kingpin like a recurring villain. And he had a fully developed role in the Echo series. What we are trying to say here is that seeing too much of Wilson Fisk may reduce the specialness of his on-screen presence. The inclusion of Bullseye will aid the makers in balancing Kingpin’s value and presence in Daredevil: Born Again.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to arrive on Disney+ Hotstar in 2025. It stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, and more. Stay tuned for more updates.
