After the spectacular success of Japanese series Alice In Borderland, based on a popular Manga, Netflix is gearing up for the release of a new live-action adaptation of yet another popular Japanese manga. Titled ‘Burn The House Down’, the series is adapted from the manga created by artist Moyashi Fujisawa, aka ‘Mitarai-ke Enjō Suru’. ‘Burn The House Down’ will premiere on Netflix worldwide on 13th July, 2023.
Netflix’s ‘Burn The House Down‘ is a faithful adaptation of the manga. It centres on Anzu Murata, a young woman who infiltrates the house of the wealthy Mitarai family as a housekeeper in order to reclaim the life that was taken from her. The lady of the house is the cold, calculating and beautiful Makiko, second wife of Mr. Mitarai. Undeterred, Anzu undertakes a mission that will reveal the secrets behind a shocking fire that took place 13 years and ruined her family forever.
‘Burn The House Down’ is directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa (Erased, The Promised Neverland), from a script written by Arisa Kaneko (Orange, An Incurable Case of Love). The cast of ‘Burn The House Down’ includes Mei Nagano as the lead Anzu Murata, Kyōka Suzuki as Makiko Mitarai, Asuka Kudō as Kiichi Mitarai, Taishi Nakagawa as Shinji Mitarai, Yuri Tsunematsu as Yuzu Murata, Kii Kitano as Kurea, among others.
