Butler To Reunite With ‘Den Of Thieves’ Director Again?

Scottish actor and film producer Gerard Butler rose to stardom following his breakthrough titular roles in the 2000s projects ‘Attila’ and ‘Dracula’. Since then he has starred in numerous intense features like ‘300’, ‘London Has Fallen’, ‘Olympus Has Fallen’, and many more.

Next up for him is another potential thriller venture. Butler is in talks to re-team with ‘Den Of Thieves’ director Christian Gudegast in the comedic action-thriller ‘Empire State’. The film will revolve around an attack on the iconic New York City skyscraper.

The plot will follow Navy SEAL turned NY firefighter Rhett and NYPD Tactical officer Dani as they put aside their relationship troubles to work towards rescuing hostages from a military contractor hellbent on revenge and saving the historical landmark.

Butler and Gudegast are also in the post-production stages for ‘Den of Thieves 2: Pantera’. This will mark the director-actor duo’s fourth collaboration following ‘Den of Thieves’, ‘London Has Fallen’, and now ‘Empire State’.

Other than this, Butler has recently wrapped production on Universal Pictures’ live-action adaptation of the fan-favorite animation franchise ‘How To Train Your Dragon’, reprising his role of Hiccup’s father Stoick. He is also currently filming ‘Greenland: Migration’, the sequel to Ric Roman Waugh’s acclaimed apocalyptic action movie.
