One of the best original series in Peacock TV’s entire library has finally begun streaming in India on Jio Cinema. We’re talking about the black comedy murder mystery series, ‘Poker Face‘. Yes, all episodes of the hotly anticipated series are now available to watch on Jio Cinema; and all’s right with the world!
‘Poker Face’ was not immediately available for streaming on Jio Cinema when the first Peacock TV titles arrived on the fast-rising Indian OTT platform. Most TV enthusiasts resigned themselves to the fact that maybe we won’t get ‘Poker Face’ on Indian OTT at all – after all, it is one of Peacock TV’s most prized and flagship shows. That’s the reason why we’re gratified, not to say overjoyed, that ‘Poker Face’ is finally streaming on Jio Cinema under the Peacock TV hub on the platform.
For those who don’t know, ‘Poker Face’ comes from celebrated filmmaker Rian Johnson, of Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery fame. It is Rian Johnson’s first TV series ever, and commissioned by American streaming service, Peacock TV.
‘Poker Face’ is a murder mystery, a la Knives Out. The 10-part series premiered on Peacock TV on 26th January, 2023, in the US. The series stars Natasha Lyonne as an unassuming girl, gifted with the uncanny ability to detect when someone is lying. She uses her ability to solve crimes that she comes across on her numerous expeditions across the country. Each episode of ‘Poker Face’ has Charlie dealing with new characters and a new murder mystery.
The new-mystery-per-episode format of ‘Poker Face’ means that there’s space for a host of actors to feature in the ten episodes of the show. The star-studded show features an exciting cast of actors, including Adrien Brody, Angel Desai, Audrey Corsa, Benjamin Bratt, Brandon Michael Hall, Charles Melton, Chelsea Frei, Cherry Jones, Chloë Sevigny, Clea DuVall, Colton Ryan, Danielle MacDonald, Dascha Polanco, Ellen Barkin, Hong Chau, Jasmine Aiyana Garvin, Jameela Jamil, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judith Light, Leslie Silva, Lil Rel Howery, Luis Guzmán, Megan Suri, Niall Cunningham, Nicholas Cirillo, Nick Nolte, Reed Birney, Rhea Perlman, Ron Perlman, Rowan Blanchard, S. Rian Johnson is the creator, writer, director and executive producer of ”Poker Face”. Natasha Lyonne also serves as EP on the series.
