Cameron Monaghan and Sarah Desjardins Join ‘Tron: Ares’

Disney’s ‘Tron: Ares’ has found two new actors, Cameron Monaghan (Gotham) and Sarah Desjardins (Yellowjackets). Details about the characters of these two actors in the film are under wraps. The film already has Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Jodie Turner-Smith in its cast.

The upcoming threequel will revolve around Ares, a computer program designed by Leto’s character, capable of connecting its digital world with the world of humans.

Helming ‘Tron: Ares’ is Joachim Ronning, who is well-known for directing Kon-Tiki (2012), the Marco Polo series, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019).

Steven Lisberger’s Tron (1982) commenced the franchise, which had Jeff Bridges in the leading role. Its sequel, ‘Tron: Legacy’, helmed by Joseph Krasinski, arrived in 2010 and had Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Michael Sheen in its cast. It earned $400 million globally against its $170 million budget.

Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne will write the threequel’s script, and will reportedly commence their work in August. Leto is also serving as one of the producers.

Disney is yet to reveal the release window of ‘Tron: Ares’. Stay tuned for more updates.
