The story of Cinderella is one that we have all grown up listening and watching through various movies based on the magical fairytale. But the latest Camila Cabello’s ‘Cinderella’ coming to Amazon Prime Video is more than just a damsel in distress.
She is an aspiring young businesswoman who wants to pursue her passion like any other modern woman. But this Cinderella who apart from having the family troubles with her stepmother and stepsisters, lives in times when women are not much welcome into the world of business.
She wishes to have her own label ‘Dresses by Ella’ through which she could display to the world her wonderful designs. For starters, she plans on making a life for herself by selling one of her signature dresses and hopes it would give her business the push it needs along with making her famous.
This Cinderella knows how important exposure is for her growth and the royal ball is just the thing she needed. But her evil stepmother ruins her plans by destroying the dress she took weeks to make. It’s then that the fabulous godmother enters the scene.
Well since it’s a fairytale with a twist the godmother here is not what one might think. He runs his magic and creates one of the dresses Cinderella had designed for her to go to the ball. At the ball she catches the eye of the Prince who is looking for a bride. But our Cinderella didn’t go to the ball for that. She doesn’t want to live in a royal box and not be able to chase her dreams.
When her stepmother discovers that it’s Cinderella who the Prince wants to marry, she wants her to go ahead with it as it would solve the family’s problems. What will Cinderella choose, her family or her passion?
As per Amazon Prime Video, Camila Cabello’s ‘Cinderella’ is musically-driven bold new take on the traditional story. The heroine (Cabello) is an ambitious young woman whose dreams are bigger than the world will allow, but with the help of her Fab G (Billy Porter), she is able to persevere and make her dreams come true.
Kay Cannon (‘Pitch Perfect’) has written the story for the screen and directed the film that features songs written by some of the top-seling musical artists of all time. ‘Cinderella’ stars Camila Cabello, Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter and Pierce Brosnan.
The film is produced by James Corden, Leo Pearlman, Jonathan Kadin and Shannon McIntosh with Louise Rosner and Josephine Rose serving as executive producers.
‘Cinderella’ will premiere worldiwde on Amazon Prime Video on 3rd September, 2021.
