Can ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’ Lock Horns With ‘Kanguva’ Successfully?

If there is one thing avid fans of the media and entertainment industry look forward to, it is either the sequels or the prequels to films and shows that they have grown to appreciate, oh so well. In such cases, it barely seems to matter that there exists a large gap between when these installments are released.

A similar situation is being observed with an upcoming Kannada-language neo-noir action thriller film ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’, a prequel to the blockbuster 2017 action thriller ‘Mufti’. ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’, slated for a November 15 theatrical release, almost alongside the widely awaited titles: ‘Kanguva’, ‘Gladiator II’, as well as ‘The Sabarmati Report’.

Not only was ‘Mufti’, a largely fan-loved success, it will also serve as the background for which ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’ builds itself off of, considering that the latter follows the rise of the crime lord that the cops are after in the former film. However, with the huge fan base that is awaiting the likes of ‘Kanguva’, will the film be able to persevere?

There are two things to be considered in this case. ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’ stars Shiva Rajkumar in the same role that he donned for ‘Mufti’. Not only will this serve as a driving force for audiences, the fact that most South Indian language speakers are loyally devoted to their respective mother tongues, will also be a huge contributing factor.

However, how much ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’ succeeds in competing with ‘Kanguva’ will only be evident once both titles debut this weekend!
