Venkatesh and Meena starrer Drushyam 2, which is the Telugu remake of Malayalam OTT blockbuster, Drishyam 2 is gearing up for its OTT premieres. The film will be made available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from the 25th of November. Venkatesh has already started promoting the film’s arrival on Amazon Prime Video. However, there appears to be an unexpected problem pertaining to Drushyam 2’s OTT release.
Going into the story, Disney+ Hotstar has apparently raised a dispute over the OTT release of Drushyam 2. It is heard that the makers of Drushyam 2 already had an agreement with Disney+ Hotstar much before they sold the film to Amazon Prime. The makers had even signed an agreement with Disney+ Hotstar. But later, they altered the plan and sold off the film’s direct to digital rights to Amazon Prime Video for reasons best known to them.
Disney+ Hotstar got to learn about Drushyam 2’s Amazon Prime Video premieres at the very last minute and irked with the development, the OTT giant has reportedly raised a dispute over the same. Now, Suresh Babu, who produced Drushyam 2 has to deal with the issue.
Suresh Babu is one of the sensible producers in Telugu cinema and he is vastly experienced with film marketing. Not often does he come across tricky situations like the one he is facing with Disney+ Hotstar’s dispute now. He will have to be at his wits as he finds an amicable situation to the issue.
