Netflix has bagged the global streaming rights for the Canadian sci-fi thriller ‘Code 8: Part II’. The film is a sequel to the 2019 film ‘Code 8’. Jeff Chan, who directed the first part, will also serve as the director for the sequel.
Netflix’s official synopsis for ‘Code 8: Part II’ reads, “After witnessing the murder of her brother and subsequent cover up, a teenage girl with abnormal abilities seeks the help of an ex-con (Robbie Amell) and his former partner-in-crime (Stephen Amell). Together, they face a unit of corrupt police officers who deploy advanced robotic technology to prevent themselves from being exposed.”
Written by Chris Paré, Jeff Chan, Sherren Lee and Jesse LaVercombe, ‘Code 8: Part II’ will have Robbie Amell (Upload) and Stephen Amell (Arrow) reprising their roles from the first film, ‘Code 8’.
‘Code 8: Part II’ is a Collective Pictures film and is produced by Jeff Chan, Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell and Chris Paré. XYZ Films is executive producing the film for Netflix.
The shooting for the ‘Code 8: Part II’ will commence later this year in Canada and will launch globally on Netflix.
