Last month, Netflix released a documentary series, ‘Crime Stories: India Detectives’ which showed us four major crime investigations that took place in Bangalore, Karnataka. The four part docuseries gave us an inside look into the minds behind the investigation, how they tracked down & found the criminals and how their minds worked. Similarly, OTT platform is now releasing another crime docuseries called ‘Catching Killers’ and it will feature interviews of some of the personnel involved in the investigation as well as the victim’s family members and sometimes the killers themselves. Check out the trailer for this upcoming show, which dropped a few hours ago, at the end of this article.
Docudramas have become a new go-to content for many Netflix users. Drama documentary films and web series like ‘Icarus’, ‘The Last Dance’, ‘Knock Down the House’ and many others have been viewed and loved by many – but crime docudramas have been attracting a lot more viewers as of late. The previously mentioned ‘Crime Stories: India Detectives’ as well as ‘Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes’ and ‘House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths’ have all gotten a big following among Netflix subscribers, especially in India. So the upcoming ‘Catching Killers’ should fit right in.
This 10-part docudrama series will focus on crimes from around the globe, with every episode featuring two crimes each. Each episode will tackle a different type of killer (according to episode titles and summaries) – thereby giving us an in-depth look at the different types of killers to look out for. All of these stories are expected to be fascinating so we can’t wait for the docuseries to finally drop next month.
‘Catching Killers’ will drop on Netflix on November 4th 2021. If interested in crime docudramas, then check it out.
