Check Out This Netflix Turkish Vampire Series Starring ‘Serkan Bolat’

Yes. You’ve read that right. Unknown to many, there is a Turkish vampire series on Netflix starring Kerem Bursin who portrayed Serkan Bolat in the international hit Turkish rom-com ‘Sen Cal Kapimi’.

Titled ‘Immortals’, the story will begin in Istanbul in the 1800s. The series primarily follows Mia(Elçin Sangu), a vampire as she is out to kill the vampire leader who turned her into one so that she may become human again. In order to do so, she will have to earn his trust first. Mia will go on to work with young rebels to destroy Dmitry(Bursin), who is in search of an artefact that grants immortality. Not your typical Turkish drama, ain’t it?

We have seen many Turkish series on Netflix, with most of the popular ones may be of the historical genre. If you’re a fan of Turkish content and is searching for something different than the usual romcoms and period dramas, then don’t miss this one. The series was quite popular among fans of the genre during its release in 2019, but since the country was warming up to the OTT platforms then, it is reasonable that not many people in the country have heard of it.

With one season consisting of 8 episodes, the series premiered on Netflix after its television telecast in Turkey. Internationally, the two main stars are well known, which helped the series get some recognition. While Bursin is basically synonymous with his character Serkan Bolat at this point, Sangu is best known for starring in the romantic comedy series Kiralik Ask(Love for Rent) where she is hired to marry a man and then leaves him by his aunt.

‘Immortals’ gives off the vibes of a dark drama. While the plot feels simplistic, the chemistry between the mains is electric and is worth giving the series a try. It has some mature scenes and is not very kid-friendly that way. Stay tuned to Binged.com for more such recommendations.
