Netflix has announced a whole new slate of original Turkish movies and shows. It includes four new shows and one feature film. With this, Netflix would have produced more than 30 series and films in Turkey.
One of the upcoming shows is ‘Asaf’, a series created and directed by Özgür Önurme. It is about an ordinary Uber driver who is high with moral values but he is separated from his wife and child. The show deals with his struggles and how he tries to get his life back on track.
The next one is ‘The Town’ directed by Seren Yüce who has previously directed ‘The Club’. This show tells the story of two brothers who fell out over the years and reunite after the death of their mother. They suddenly find a bag full of cash and are confronted with moral and ethical complications.
The feature film ‘Ash’ is directed by Erdem Tepegöz. Ash is about a wealthy, married woman falling in love with a mysterious carpenter.
Berkun Oya, creator of shows like ‘Ethos‘ and ‘Cici‘ has announced an untitled project with Netflix which will tell the story of a nuclear family.
Writer Ece Yörenç has announced a rom-com with netflix with the working title of ‘Kimler Geldi Kimler Geçti’ about modern Turkish relationships.
‘Do Not Disturb’ is a dramedy that was announced earlier but not yet released. The film is created and directed by Cen Yilmaz and it will be his first creative partnership with Netflix.
