Chhaava is locked and loaded for its OTT release in India. The latest Vicky Kaushal blockbuster has emerged as the biggest movie of 2025 so far, and now it’s all set to roar on Netflix as well. According to several online reports, Chhaava will premiere on Netflix on April 11, 2025. However, an official confirmation from the streamer is still awaited.
Serving as a feature adaptation of the prominent Marathi novel Chhaava by Shivaji Sawant, the newest Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna starrer delivers a powerful, heartbreaking, invigorating, and action-packed portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj — the second ruler of the Maratha Empire and son of Shivaji Maharaj.
Both Kaushal and Khanna received acclaim from audiences for their breathtaking portrayals of Sambhaji and Aurangzeb, respectively. The rest of the cast includes Rashmika Mandanna, Diana Penty, Neil Bhoopalam, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Vineet Kumar Singh, and more.
Made on a hefty budget of INR 130–140 crores, Chhaava has grossed over INR 790 crores so far, making it the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2025. It also stands as the second highest-grossing film for Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, after Stree 2, which collected over INR 874 crores during its theatrical run.
A.R. Rahman helmed the film’s music department, while Pen and Yash Raj Films managed its domestic and global distribution, respectively.
Chhaava is expected to arrive on Netflix on April 11. Stay tuned for more updates.
