Encouraged with the astounding ongoing box office success, makers of Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Chhaava’ decided to release the film’s Telugu version on March 7th promising massive screens (over 550) across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Despite all the achievements, ‘Chhaava’s Telugu release is facing some hurdle as the Muslim Federation of Andhra Pradesh has requested for halt of its screening in the state. The organisation cites historical inaccuracies in the film as the issue and that it might cause provocations.
Honestly, these issues seem baseless now that the film has been out for weeks and has been received so warmly by the audience across the nation. As for the provocation part, numerous members of Muslim community have already seen ‘Chhaava’ and if there was any plausible cause of concern for them it would have raised long ago.
Also, such scrutiny shouldn’t be a big hurdle for ‘Chhaavaa’ and it will probably go for a smooth screening in Telugu speaking zones.
Maddock Films’ ‘Chaava’ has had a tremendous box office run and is expected to cross the ₹500 crore mark in net India collection this Friday.
