Big films get attention from the audience. But that is not the only thing which matters. There are several more factors that decide how a film or series will be taken by the people. Take the case of Chhava.
The movie is a perfect blockbuster. It has a big starcast, the subject is very sensational and there is nothing that it practically lacks.
But the reactions to it are much lower than expected.
Why?
Most people have already watched it on the big screens. This is a kind of film that targets audiences. Not everyone will watch it. But those who can watch it will most certainly do.
On the other hand, we have a film like TEST. The movie was charred, and it did not receive any positive response from the critics. Still, it has defeated Chhava in terms of views.
We do realise that we are counting the full week run of TEST against the weekend run of Chhava. But even in that case, Chhava could have done far better in terms of views.
The film had all the criteria of a blockbuster, but the OTT audiences did not seem very excited. But the makers must not be caring because they were successful in getting a big return on the big screens.
As for the makers of TEST, they were just lucky, as people didn’t have many great options to watch.
