A holiday favorite of the Chinese film industry, the film made over $211 million, making it the ninth highest-grossing film of 2022. China also submitted ‘Nice View’ for Best International Feature Film category of this year’s Academy Awards. Nice View’s story revolves around a young man named Jing Hao who, in order to save his sister, desperately seizes the opportunity he found to start a business. Under the pressure of both time and money, Jing Hao, who has no way out, decides to take a desperate gamble. This however changes his fate, and affects the lives of people around him.
Directed by Wen Muye, Nice View is his second feature film. Wen Muye co-wrote the film with Zhou Chucen, Han Xiaohan and Zhong Wei. Besides box-office success, Nice View also garnered big critical acclaim. Some critics praised the film for its focus on dreams, endeavors and emotions of ordinary people.
