ZEE5 Marches On, To Premiere Vinay Pathak’s Family Drama ‘Chintu Ka Birthday’ On 5 June

Staying true to its title of the largest and most prolific content creator in India, ZEE5 has lined up another family drama movie to premiere soon on its platform. The movie is the Vinay Pathak starrer ‘Chintu Ka Birthday’, a heartwarming, feel-good film that will surely touch the core of your heart.

Set in the early nineties, around the time of the Gulf War, Chintu Ka Birthday stars Vinay Pathak and Tillotama Shome as parents to little Chintu. It’s Chintu’s birthday and the family is stuck in the midst of a raging war in Iraq. Chintu expresses a wish to celebrate his birthday – a normal wish on any other day, but a tall order in war times.

Through the story of Chintu’s birthday, the film captures the poignant reality of how humankind has given up tiny joys in the pursuit of power and dominance over their fellow human beings. Will Chintu finally be able to celebrate his birthday in the middle of a war? And if so, then how?

Chintu Ka Birthday also gains gravitas in the current situation of a pandemic and the lockdown, when boisterous celebrations are a thing of the past.

The film is directed by newcomer director duo Satyanshu and Devanshu Singh. Besides Vinay Pathak and Tillotama Shome, the movie also stars Seema Pahwa in a crucial role.
