Chiranjeevi’s GodFather Trailer Is Tame And Disappointing

The trailer for Telugu star Chiranjeevi‘s ‘GodFather’ is out. The Telugu film arrives in theatres on October 5, as a holiday release on the auspicious festival of Dussehra.

The hype around ‘GodFather‘ has slowly started to gather steam these past few days. Songs and first look launches have tried to keep the attention on the film going. It is quite obvious that for the film to drum up buzz, the trailer should be powerful and impressive. The actual ‘GodFather’ trailer, however, is tame and unimpactful – in fact it is downright disappointing.

The action scenes in the film are uninspiring. The VFX is quite poor and not upto the mark in any way. Thaman’s background score is passable at the most. What’s more, the remarkable ensemble cast too fails to impress. Nayanthara is dull and insipid. Salman Khan is totally devoid of the star charisma that he normally exudes. And Chiranjeevi’s characterisation looks caricaturish and forced.

If the trailer is anything to go by, Chiranjeevi’s ‘GodFather’ will have a hard time enthralling viewers. Already, interest in the film is quite low, considering that it is a remake of the Malayalam superhit film, ‘Lucifer’. Let’s see how the film does in the theatres when it releases next week on October 5.

‘GodFather’ is directed by Mohan Raja, and jointly produced by Super Good Films and Konidela Productions. Its music is composed by Thaman S. ‘GodFather’ stars Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan, Nayanthara, Satya Dev, Sunil, Puri Jagannadh, Samuthirakani, Murli Sharma, among others.
