Chitrangada Singh bags the rights of a biopic film based on the life of Yogendra Yadav, the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient in India. He received the country’s highest military decoration at the age of 19 for his heroic actions during the Kargil War. The actress will produce the biopic under her production banner, C. S. Films.
Soorma (2018) was Singh’s first project as a producer in Bollywood. The film was based on the life of Sandeep Singh, one of the most prominent Indian hockey players. The leading duo consisted of Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu. Helmed by Shaad Ali, the movie emerged as a commercial failure.
Singh announced the project during an event in Delhi where the book about Yogendra Yadav’s life journey, Bravo Yadav, was launched. On being asked about the project, the actress replied, “Whenever I see a film “based on true events”, I get very excited. To me, that film becomes more important than any other fiction. This film is a bit more than entertainment.”
The actress added, “I genuinely feel that we have to make heroes out of them because they already are.”
Also, Chitranagda Singh spilled some beans about her upcoming projects at the book launch event. Viewers will see her in Gaslight, starring Sara Ali Khan and Vikrant Massey. The film may come out at the end of this year. Additionally, she will soon commence shooting for an OTT series. Singh last appeared in the ZEE5 film, Bob Biswas, opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
