Chris Evans &Scarlett Johansson to Star in Apple’s Romantic Action Movie ‘Ghosted’

A few hours ago, the name Chris Evans was trending big time on Twitter, which got many Marvel fans somewhat baffled. However, it wasn’t our beloved former Captain America but instead, an American footballer who shares the same name with the popular ‘Avengers’ superstar.

Soon after, Deadline broke the news about Chris Evans teaming up yet again with his Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson for a romantic action flick titled ‘Ghosted’ for Apple Studios. Both the actors are said to be in an advanced negotiations stage for the film.

The film would reportedly be directed by British actor turned director Dexter Fletcher, who is known for helming films such as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ (Queen band biopic) and ‘Rocketman’ (based on Elton John). The script of ‘Ghosted’ has been penned by frequent collaborators Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese who have earlier written for popular films like ‘Zombieland’, ‘Deadpool’, and ‘6 Underground’, to name a few.

Besides starring in MCU movies like ‘Avengers’ and ‘Captain America’ movies, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson have also shared screen space in relatively unknown non-MCU films such as ‘The Perfect Score’ and ‘The Nanny Diaries’. Having said that, it looks like ‘Ghosted’ might be the first high-profile non-MCU project that the renowned actor-duo will be a part of. It was also earlier being speculated that Evans and Johansson might also collaborate for a remake of the 1986 horror-comedy ‘Little Shop of Horrors’.

Besides, ‘Ghosted’ will be another feather in the cap for Apple as it already boasts of some big-ticket titles such as Martin Scorsese’s directorial ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, Will Smith starrer ‘Emancipation’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘Kitbag’, amongst others.

‘Ghosted’ is the latest deal for Johansson since the much talked about the lawsuit against Disney in relation to the day-and-date release strategy for ‘Black Widow’. While Chris Evans will next be seen in the eagerly anticipated project ‘The Gray Man’ directed by Russo brothers and co-starring Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, and acclaimed Indian actor Dhanush.
