Chris Evans to Reunite with Rian Johnson for Gene Kelly Based Film

Former Captain America and Hollywood heartthrob Chris Evans is reportedly in talks to essay the role of the legendary actor/dancer/filmmaker/choreographer Gene Kelly. As per a recent report (via Deadline), the untitled film’s underlying premise is based on an original idea by Chris Evan himself.

As far as the film’s plot is concerned, it revolves around a 12-year-old boy working on the MGM lot in the year 1952 and how he forms a friendship with the famous star Gene Kelly during the time of working for his next film. However, the twist is that the friendship is not real and is just a figment of the imagination of the young boy.

Chris Evans will also act as one of the film’s producers besides being playing the pivotal role. The premium project will also reunite the ‘Gifted’ actor with his ‘Knives Out’ director Rian Johnson, who will co-produce the film amongst others.

Besides Chris Evans and Rian Johnson, also involved in the project as producers are Mark Kassen, Ram Bergman (Knives Out producer), and John Logan. John Logan, who is known for lending his writing skills for acclaimed films like Gladiator, The Aviator, Hugo, and Skyfall, will also be penning the script for the Chris Evans starrer.

Chris Evans, who first came into the limelight by playing Human Torch in the 2005 Marvel movie ‘Fantastic Four’, shot to international fame with his portrayal of Steve Rogers / Captain America in solo ‘Captain America’ films followed by the blockbuster Avengers film series.
