There was a lot of anticipation and excitement among Indian fans of Chris Hemsworth, ever since news broke that the Avengers and Thor star would be visiting India for the promotions of his upcoming Netflix flick, ‘Extraction’. But as per a new development, which is sure to disappoint the fans of the star, the Extraction team has had to cancel its promotional trip to India, which means Chris Hemsworth will not be able to make it to India amidst concerns about the global outbreak of Coronavirus.
In a statement to a media portal, Netflix said, “Keeping in mind the health and safety of everyone involved and the travel advisory issued, the event has been called off.”
The calling off of Chris Hemsworth’s India promotions is another in a long list of events and promotions that have been cancelled in the wake of the Coronavirus scare.
Hemsworth plays a mercenary-for-hire in Extraction, who risks life and limb to rescue a Bangladeshi crimelord-cum-businessman’s kidnapped son from merciless weapon and drug traffickers. The movie is set in the backdrop of Dhaka, but has been shot extensively in India and Thailand.
The Netflix Original movie has rustled up a lot of anticipation courtesy its stellar cast and crew. The movie is produced by the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of the Avengers Franchise. It is directed by Avengers Endgame stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave. These credentials by themselves are enough to evoke viewers’ interest in the film.
