Addams family had hit the headlines again after years when Tim Burton and Netflix joined hands to create a new live action series based on it. The series was titled “Wednesday”. Now the excitement for the show has doubled when Christina Ricci, the original cast member of Addams family TV show of 1991 is set to return in a major role to Wednesday.
Christina Ricci played the role of young Wednesday Addams in the 1991 TV show. It is obvious that she can’t reprise her role since her character of Wednesday Addams is too young for her now and she is almost set to play another character in the series. Christina Ricci had beautifully played the role of Wednesday in the TV show version of Addams Family, where her character became immensely popular.
Christina Ricci’s return will make the fans happier as they launched a petition earlier to bring her back when the series was announced.
The Addams family was created by American cartoonist Charles Addams which appeared as cartoon panels. The characters became popular swiftly which paved the way to create other movies, animated series, TV shows and games based on it. Now that Netflix is making a new series, the Addams family is set to reappear again on the screens.
Wednesday will be a coming-of-age comedy and Tim Burton will be the executive producer and director and written by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar. MGM will be the production studio of the series. Tim Burton who is famous for making films on unique subjects with bizarre characters, his version of Addams Family will also be a millstone in his filmography where Addams Family also consist many weird things.
The series is more likely to premier on Netflix in the late 2022 or the beginning of 2023.
