Radio Silence is now officially leaving the ‘Scream’ franchise and filmmaker Christopher Landon is going to helm the seventh film of the franchise. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmaker duo popularly known as Radio Silence have entertained fans with the marvelous and scary ‘Scream’ films and now they will be involved in other projects.
Scream 6, that came out only very recently, was a huge success at the box office and starred internet sensation Jenna Ortega in the lead role. It also has actors like Courtney Cox, Mason Gooding, Malissa Barrera and many others. The cast is highly likely to return to Scream 7 to reprise their roles.
Radio Silence, for now, is working on a big budget monster movie, with the working title of ‘Dracula’s Daughter’. It is a great decision to rope in a director like Landon to direct Scream 7. Christopher Landon is known for directing films like ‘Happy Death Day’, ‘Freaky’, ‘We Have A GHost’, ‘Burning Palms’ and more. He has also written most of the Paranormal Activity films.
The Scream series is one of the most iconic slasher franchises ever. Filmmaker Wes Craven made the first four films of the series and it was Radio Silence who gave a new take and revived the series with the 2022 film ‘Scream’ and its 2023 sequel. Now the story gets another turn and it will have a new interpretation from a fine horror director. Christopher Landon understands horror and it is not an overstatement if we say that the franchise is now in very good hands.
