Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ Teaser Out; And It’s Compelling!

The first teaser for Christopher Nolan’s much-talked-about film ‘Oppenheimer’ has finally been released on social media. The teaser first released in theatres, attached with Jordan Peele’s horror film, ‘Nope’. The Oppenheimer teaser is now out for public viewing.

Oppenheimer features ‘Peaky Blinders’ star Cillian Murphy in the lead role of iconic physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in the film. For those who don’t, J Robert Oppenheimer was part of the elite group of scientists that was instrumental in the development of the nuclear bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II. He is known as the ‘Father Of The Atomic Bomb’, in memory of his achievements.

The teaser for ‘Oppenheimer’ shows a fleeting glimpse of Cillian Murphy as Robert Oppenheimer. It begins as a kaleidoscope of colours on a black canvas, as Emily Blunt’s voice rings out amidst the blackness, “The world is changing, re-forming”.

Another burst of colours follows, hot and passionate. And then we get our first glimpse of the man at the threshold of history. The background music rises in tempo, becoming urgent and ominous, as the voiceover says, “He gave them the power to destroy themselves…. and made him the most important man that ever lived”.

Robert Downey Jr. voices out towards the end, describing J Robert Oppenheimer as “The man who moved the earth”, along with revealing the release date of ‘Oppenheimer’ – July 21, 2023.

The one-minute-long first teaser for ‘Oppenheimer’ doesn’t reveal much by way of the plot of the film. But then we all know how it goes, so that’s that. Oppenheimer is written and directed by Christopher Nolan. The film boasts an eclectic ensemble cast, comprising Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Matt Demon, Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, Casey Affleck, Josh Peck, Jack Quaid, among a host of others.

‘Oppenheimer’ is based on ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer.’, a biography of J. Robert Oppenheimer written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.
