Cinemapreneur’s Aunty Sudha Aunty Radha: Portraying the Nuances of Old Age

By Binged Bureau - Apr 05, 2021 @ 04:04 pm

Tanuja Chandra is a director known for her works on projects like Dushman, Sangharsh, Qarib Qarib Single. She has come up with unique subjects from time to time, and this time around, she is creating a film where she tries to go back to her family’s roots.

Her next venture is an indie documentary called ‘Aunty Sudha Aunty Radha’ where Tanuja Chandra visits her paternal aunts in Lahra, Uttar Pradesh. Sudha and Radha have a pretty laidback like now where they are free from most responsibilities. They have a big family of domestic aides to help them out and take care of them at all times.

Aunty Sudha Aunty Radha is a tale of two sisters who exude the bond of sisterhood, co-existence, rural life, plus that zeal even at such an old age. Grandparents are among the most caring people that you can find. They will protect you when your parents come slamming down on you and will pamper you beyond imagination. They will strive to give you every morsel of love and affection that they have left, but there will also be times when the generation gap creates a bit of a rift.

Both the Aunty’s reminisce on how they have been blessed abundantly. They also talk about how they find happiness and solace in each other’s company and in their old age where they can finally live for themselves rather than put the needs of other people before their own.

Aunty Sudha Aunty Radha will release on Cinemapreneur on 9th April.
