‘Cinemawala’ came out in 2016 and is now available to watch on Hoichoi. The movie is about the changing of times and how it affects the chemistry of personal relationships.
The movie is directed by National Award winning director Koushik Ganguly and his signature sensitive style is very visible throughout the movie. ‘Cinemawala’ I’d the story of Pranabendu, played by Paran Bandyopadhyay, who owns a movie theater. Pranabendu is compelled to sell his theater as multiplexes come to the town and nobody goes to watch movies in single-screen theaters anymore. While he struggles to cope with this change, there is one more blow to wait. His son Prakash is making good money by selling pirated copies of movie dvds.
Cinemawala stars actors like Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Debaloy Bhattacharya, Sohini Sarkar, Bishwanath, Alaknanda Roy and more. The performances are beautiful and they are accompanied by beautiful music by Indraadip Das Gupta. The cinematography is handled by Soumik Haldar.
The movie is quite short as compared to the length of other Bengali movies. It is one hour and forty five minutes long and does not bore you at all. Watch ‘Cinemawala’ with your friends and family on Hoichoi and enjoy your weekend.
