Teaser for Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film ‘Cirkus’ is here and it’s more of a trailer launch date announcement video. Led by Ranveer Singh, ‘Cirkus’ will release in cinemas on 23rd December, 2022.
‘Cirkus’ teaser video has the cast sitting on the steps of a staircase reminiscing the older, simpler era of the 60s when children looked towards grandparents for satisfying their curiosities instead of searching on the internet.
It was the era when news was informative rather than sensational, internet wasn’t an answer for everything and ‘Cirkus’ is a story of those very times when life wasn’t complicated as today’s. ‘Cirkus’ is a much awaited period comedy drama film directed and produced by Rohit Shetty. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, Johnny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Siddharth Jadhav, Vijay Patkar, Sulabha Arya, Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Bangia among others.
As far as film’s storyline goes it’s got quite a long history dating back to 1869. ‘Cirkus’ is based on the the 1982 Hindi film ‘Angoor’ which was a remake of the 1968 film ‘Do Dooni Chaar’. But it doesn’t stop there, ‘Do Dooni Char’ was itself adapted from a 1963 Bengali film ‘Bhranti Bilas’ that was based on Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s eponymous play. It doesn’t end here either this play too was an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play ‘Comedy of Errors’.
‘Cirkus’ is produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Reliance Entertainment and T-Series. ‘Cirkus’ will release in cinemas on 23rd December, 2022.
