Citadel is getting released tomorrow. Needless to say, the series is one of the most expensive to be ever made and it reflects the same. The promotional campaign was top notch and it will continue to be like this.
But do you remember Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power? It is the biggest show ever made and so was the promotional campaign in India. Prime Video made superstar Hrithik Roshan the face of the campaign and it helped them gain a lot of buzz around the show.
But you don’t find such a thing in Citadel…
There is a simple reason. Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a name big enough that Indians would watch the show. Also, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu contributed a lot to the marketing.
So what is the smart trick?
This trick is something Netflix India didn’t follow during CAT. They have used the original voice of Priyanka Chopra even in the Hindi dubbing.
Chopra is a big name in the Hindi belt. Seeing her in a series of Citadel’s scale is anyway going to be a treat for her fans. But, this dubbing has further fixed the perfection.
If you remember then Netflix India didn’t choose Randeep Hooda to dub his own original audio in Punjabi, and there were a few complaints about it.
But this strategy of Prime Video should definitely help them.
