Clown VS Clown: Joker 2 Weak Opening Threatened By Terrifier 3

Clown VS Clown Joker 2 Weak Opening Threatened By Terrifier 3

Its not everyday you see one of the most admired pop culture icons getting demolished by a mere Slasher movie. While everyone likes to have some fun riding on to the carnage of movies like Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massace, or the recently released Terrifier, it is unbelievable to see a mindless killer clown threatening another mindless clown but with studio backing.

That’s right, Terrifier 3 is ready to surpass Joker: Folie a Deux. The movie is expected to have a bigger opening weekend than the sequel to one of the highest-grossing R-rated comic book movies. To say the least, Warner Brothers has been humbled.

The much-awaited sequel deviated so far from the original movie that it was practically a new movie. With the artistic liberties ruling out coherency of story, Joker: Folie A Deux failed to capture the hearts of the fans. The movie is now the titleholder of the worst domestic opening ever in Comic Book Movie History. It even beat Sony’s Morbius, which earned 39 million on its opening; Joker could only muster 37.8 million dollars.

The bar was low, but it’s hilarious how the sequel managed to beat that record. The movie has been called out as the worst in the category when its predecessor was rolling in the sweet, sweet cash. The Terrifier 3 is a sequel to the previous movie, which follows the ain cast finishing its own pit against Art the Clown yet again.

The movie is of a much lower budget and has little to no marketing. While Joker 2 had a whopping $200 million in production with the massive branding to ack the final product. It was not some B-list character like Morbius; it was “THE JOKER.” Perhaps it’s time for WB to learn from its fumble and get its business straight.
