Commemorate Independence Day With Films Hitting Theatres Tomorrow!

It is not every day that we, as a country celebrate the independence our bloodlines forgone, gave up their lives for. However, when we do celebrate it, the nation comes together as a whole in a never-seen-before avatar, year after year. And one means through which we commemorate our freedom is through the medium of cinema. Cinema that as a medium of expression, has bound humans for decades.

Which is to say, to celebrate this 78th Independence Day, a slate of highly anticipated films is making its way to your nearest theatres! The three Hindi features being released on August 15 are: the Rajkumar Rao – Shraddha Kapoor led ‘Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank’, the John Abraham – Sharvari headlined ‘Vedaa’, and the multi-star feature ‘Khel Khel Mein’.

Similarly, the three Tamil films being released tomorrow in your nearest theatres are: ‘Demonte Colony 2’, starring Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar, ‘Raghu Thatha’, the Keerthy Suresh starrer, as well as the Vikram starrer ‘Thangalaan’.

The Sanjay Dutt and Rahul Pothineni starrer ‘Doube Ismart’, is one-third of the trio of Telugu films being released. The latter being Ravi Teja’s ‘Mr. Bachchan (The Only Hope)’ and ‘Aay…Mem Friends Andi’, a comedic drama.

Malayalam dramas ‘Nunakkuzhi’ and ‘Vaazha – Biopic of a Billion Boys’ will premiere in theatres tomorrow. ‘Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi’, a Kannada rom-com, and ‘Indrajit Lankesh Gowri’, a Kannada action drama will also begin their theatrical run from Independence Day onwards.

The Bengali titles hitting theatres on the occasion are the drama ‘Babli’ as well as the biopic ‘Padatik’.

With a pool of titles as diverse as the aforementioned premiering in theatres across the country, it is truly put into perspective the long way we’ve come since first winning our independence.
