JioCinema, is currently enjoying the successful reception of IPL which created new records and was highly successful.
However, there are two embarrassing issues too. The first issue revolves around the platform posting intrusive and inappropriate poll questions about users’ sex lives. This kind of invasion of privacy is highly inappropriate and has understandably upset users. JioCinema must recognize the boundaries of user engagement and ensure that sensitive personal topics are not exploited for the sake of interaction.
The second issue centers around the telecast of condom advertisements during live IPL matches. Many users have expressed their displeasure and discomfort with the placement of explicit ads, particularly due to the fact that children also watch these matches. Parents find it embarrassing and challenging to explain such content to their young ones, especially during family-friendly programming. While condom advertisements play a crucial role in promoting safe sex, their placement during events that attract a broad audience raises questions about responsible ad targeting.
Users are now demanding stricter content regulation and better control over the kind of ads and surveys that appear on JioCinema. Although the platform is free, users argue that it should not come at the expense of their privacy or create awkward situations for families. JioCinema needs to adopt a more responsible approach, respecting the boundaries and preferences of its users while providing appropriate content for different audience segments.
As a free platform, JioCinema relies heavily on advertising revenue. However, it is important for the platform to strike a balance between revenue generation and user satisfaction. Implementing measures such as stricter content guidelines, better ad targeting, and personalized viewing options could address the concerns raised by users.
In conclusion, JioCinema is currently under scrutiny for its intrusive poll questions and the placement of explicit advertisements during live IPL matches. The platform must recognize the importance of user privacy and comfort, and take steps to ensure that content and ads are appropriate for the diverse audience it serves.

Shame on you @JioCinema & @BCCI— Dr. Jitendra Nagar (@NagarJitendra) May 26, 2023
@JioCinema @AmbaniTina please stop showing absurd ads during matches. Ads like condoms and intimate scene of other brands. We watch it with our family. It makes a middle class family to seat alone. Reality is this only.
