The recent trend of action, mystery and suspense filled thrillers now more than ever makes one miss that golden era of television sitcoms.
Sparring a few shows in between like Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Panchayat’ and SonyLIV’s ’Gullak’ we barely have many good comedy shows out there currently. And that’s where this latest news will bring smile on the faces of sitcom lovers.
Saurabh Varma and Utpaal Acharya’s Content Engineers has joined hands with Rohan Sippy’s Ramesh Sippy Entertainment and Pankaj Sudheer Mishra’s Triyambh Entertainment and Media to create wholesome entertaining content.
Together they will make and produce sitcoms and the first such production that is said to resonate with the international audience as well, is already in works and the announcement for the same will be made soon.
Classic sitcoms like ‘Khichdi’, ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ that followed ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’ and ‘Ye Jo Hai Zindagi’ on television were no less entertaining. But when it comes to OTT we have very little to go with and thus end up rewatching the ones that are already there. It’s needless to say good sitcoms are the need of the hour and it would be great to have a fresh new era of hilarious sitcoms.
