Zee5 is not having a good time. Their original films may be garnering decent buzz but the condition of the series is just too bad. Consider the case of Taj: Divided By Blood. It had some big names but low production value and lack of craft made it almost an unbearable series. This was also reflected in the views which ultimately led them to stream the first episode for free.
Now, the same blue has fallen on Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu. Well, hats off to the innovative name (sarcasm intended). But, it did not help the series in any possible manner.
It’s been over 24 hours since the series got released but there is extremely little to absolutely no public reaction floating on the web. It is a next level fiasco that Zee5 must consider.
But what is the main culprit behind this? Bad content or terrible promotions.
Well, it is the cocktail of the two. Zee5 always tries to take the not so good route while making a series. The sets of Taj are a great testament to the same. This is also evident in the poor screenplay and execution of most of their series.
But it is not just the content. A new concept fantasy show like Fireflies deserved a far better promotional campaign than what it actually received. Think about the situation when a visual spectacle like Brahmāstra was not promoted well. The poor content would have killed the film, but it was not the case.
Zee5 rarely promotes well and they are the first ones to suffer because of that. Let’s see when Zee5 finally shows improvement.
