Contract Negotiations Between Studios & Hollywood Actors Put To Halt!

In a very sudden development, the SAG-AFTRA and the Hollywood Studios have stopped negotiating on the matter of just remuneration for the actors, artificial intelligence and many more.

The three month long strike involved many big names from the film industry and it provided actors with the hope of justice with their hard earned money. This stoppage in work indeed resulted in huge loss for the industry and unemployment. After the Writers’ Guild of America (WGA) ended its work stoppage, the actors’ union too started negotiations again with studio members.

AMPTP or Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers has said, “After meaningful conversations, it is clear that the gap between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA is too great, and conversations are no longer moving us in a productive direction.” AMPTP has also claimed that the demand of SAG-AFTRA on shares of streaming revenue has contributed to the rift between the two parties as it would cost more than 800 million USD every year.

Meanwhile, SAG-AFTRA claims that the studio has negotiated with a deal that was shockingly worth less than they had offered when the strike had begun. They also say that the studio representatives have walked away from the negotiation and do not intend to reach a good conclusion for both parties. The huge margin of OTT streaming shares too are overstated by studios, as per the Actors’ Guild.
