Courtroom dramas almost always succeed in keeping the audience hooked till the end. A case, a victim, a long list of suspects, a whole lot of twists & turns, and an unexpected culprit! Does it get better than this? Umm, we don’t think so!
Two shows are currently the talk of the town. Guess what is the one thing common between them? They are both legal dramas. First is ‘Guilty Minds‘ on Amazon Prime Video. It is the story of two lawyers who have been friends for a long time. They work for separate firms and have completely opposite ideologies. Kashaf Quaze (Shriya Pilgaonkar) works for a law firm that majorly deals with class action and humanitarian cases. Deepak Rana (Varun Mitra), on the other hand works for a giant law firm and deals with bigshot clients. This show is ten episodes long and deals with a fresh case in each episode. ‘Guilty Minds’ addresses all types of issues – water shortage, sexual assault, murder, improper termination, and more. Written and directed by Shefali Bhushan, co-directed and co-written by Jayant Digambar Somalkar, this courtroom drama also stars Satish Kaushik, Namrata Seth, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in key roles. The show is still trending. It was received well by majority of the audience and the performances of all actors were highly appreciated.
Other one is ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ currently streaming on Netflix with ten episodes. It is based on the book ‘The Brass Verdict’ written by Michael Connelly. As per reports, ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ reached number 1 on the list of Netflix’s most-watched English-language series globally for the week of May 16-22, with more than 108 million hours viewed, leaving behind Netflix’s popular show ‘Ozark’. The story is about Mickey Haller, an attorney in LA, who has not had a case in over a year. He was in rehab for a few months to get over his drug problem before starting work again. His life takes an unexpected turn when he inherits one of his friends Jerry’s entire practice after Jerry is shot dead. His inheritance includes a high profile case of a tech genius who is on trial for allegedly killing his wife and her lover. This case might turn Mickey’s entire life and career around but at the cost of his life! ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ is currently in Netflix India’s Top 10 list. The show is well written, well executed, and engaging. It stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Christopher Gorham.
