One of the biggest sports anime currently coming out of Japan is the Volleyball based anime series – ‘Haikyuu!!’. The animated series completed its fourth season last year, by December 19th 2020 and fans all around the world have been waiting for the series ever since. We were expecting some news from the animation studios that created the sporting anime giant by this month, but with the ongoing “fourth wave” of the coronavirus pandemic going on in Japan, this will only delay any possible expected announcements.
The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has hit us all hard. It has been especially bad in India, with South India currently struggling with the most coronavirus cases at the moment. Many states have done into lockdown and it will be a few weeks before we get to a medically manageable state again. Not every other country was hit like us, with Japan being one of the biggest medically advanced countries in the world that have somewhat managed well. However, the South-East Asian country has been hit by the aforementioned fourth wave of the raging coronavirus and that has halted the country for the time being. The coronavirus is creating havoc everywhere so safety first.
Haikyuu is one of the biggest anime in the world (not just sports anime). This web series managed to revive the slowly-dying Volleyball sport at the high school level and now the country’s national men’s team has reached among the top 10 countries in the world. The anime has changed a lot of lives and continue to inspire teenagers around the world to follow their passion.
Usually, when a Haikyuu season is announced, we are made to wait for a 12-13 month period. As the delay goes on, so will the announcement for the 5th season of this sports anime. The author for the manga series (comic book series) had already finished the series back in July 2020. We expect two more seasons to come out before the anime series is finally completed.
