The unprecedented shutdown in the entertainment industry has begun to hit where it hurts most – it has caused the scheduled premieres of original series of several streaming platforms to go off track.
First among these is Kaali Season 2, which was to premiere on ZEE5 today, that is 27th March. Not only has the show failed to keep its date with its viewers, there’s no word from ZEE5’s end regarding the no-show of Kaali 2, reason for delay and a new streaming date.
Another show that is certain to be delayed is ZEE5’s marquee show, The Casino: My Game, My Rules. Though the platform has not given out any official news confirming the delay, one of its lead actresses Pooja Banerjee hinted towards the same in an interview to an entertainment portal.
Apparently, while the shoot for the series is complete, the release is likely to be delayed due to a complete halt in the post-production work of the series.
ALTBalaji and ZEE5’s Class of 2020 Season 2 is another show that will be delayed due to the shutdown. The series was to have begun shoot, which has now been put off. The delay in the start of the shoot will obviously have a cascading effect on the release of the series.
Additionally, though there’s no word from the Amazon Prime Video yet, the release of Mirzapur Season 2, which has completed most of its shoot, is likely to be further delayed. It’s already been a year and a half since the release of Mirzapur Season 1, and fans of the show have been getting impatient for Season 2.
