Anime fans do have a tough time streaming, especially with so little content on OTT giants, leading them to turn to piracy. However, the rise of the Crunchyroll platform has provided some comfort, and now, it is coming to Prime Video Stores.
For hardcore fans, Crunchyroll was always an option, but casual watchers would often settle for whatever was available on Netflix or Prime Video. If Crunchyroll gains mainstream attention, more fans might subscribe to its services.
The price point is kept fairly low.
Among other services on Prime Video Stores, Crunchyroll stands out with one of the cheapest price tags, costing just ₹79 per month. The Fan pack for Crunchyroll will give access to more than 800 animes.
“The popularity of anime content in India has grown exponentially over the last few years, and through various Channels, we are working towards building a wide and diverse library of popular and blockbuster Japanese animation,” says Gaurav Bhasin, head of Prime Video Channels and Movie Rentals, Prime Video, India.
Bhasin later added that this step will give exposure to anime and its dubs to a whole new set of audiences, helping the genre get a major boost.
