After winding up its first batch of five episodes of Season 4 in December, cult adult animated comedy series Rick and Morty will soon be back with the remaining five episodes. The release date was announced yesterday by Adult Swim, Cartoon Network’s night-time division. And the remainder of Season 4 of the series is slated to release as early as 3rd May.
The critically-acclaimed, Emmy-award winning adult animated comedy usually releases its seasons in two chunks of five episodes each. The first batch was released in the USA in November, while Indian audiences got to watch it only from 22nd December.
So, by that account, if the next batch of five episodes releases in the US on 3rd May, we can expect it to stream in India around the beginning of June. A pretty long wait, if we may. For those not in the know, Rick and Morty streams on Adult Swim in the US, and on Netflix in India.
It is an adult animated Sci-fi sitcom created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. It chronicles the adventures of genius mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his mild-mannered 14-year old grandson Morty Smith, as they buzz off on crazy adventures across the universe, transcending dimensions. Both characters are voiced by Roiland himself.
The series has achieved cult status, not only on TV, but in digital, gaming, fandom and retail. It was handed a 70-episode renewal in one go, back in 2018.
