Ditipriya Roy will next be seen alongside Suhotra Mukhopadhyay in a new Bengali web series ‘Dakghor’. ‘Dakghor’ is a Hoichoi special and it will be premiering on the 24th of February.
When you hear ‘Dakghor’, you most probably remember the short story by Rabindranath Tagore about a young Boy Amal who is confined in a room. Well we don’t know if this series is somehow inspired from that story but this is a love story between Damodar and Manjari. Manjari is a regular village girl and Damodar is the postmaster in Hagada village.
Filmmaker Abhishek Saha is helming the web series. He is known for films like ‘Uronchondi’ and ‘Bhalobasar Busstop’. This is the first time Ditipriya and Suhotra are teaming up for a project together. Other actors like Kanchan Mallik, Paramita Mukhopadhyay, Tapati Munshi and Atanu Barman will be seen with them in the show. Previously it was planned that actor Sourav Das will be playing the role of Damodar.
If you liked Panchayat, you are going to love ‘Dakghor’ too. The cast and director seems promising and it will hopefully tell a rural love story without making it a cliché.
