Kill may not be one of the biggest films of the year but it is certainly one of the most important films of the year. It is a landmark in terms of violent films, and if we set aside our moral lens, then it is actually a very good film. More importantly, it is a very different kind of success as it is getting remade in Hollywood even though its Box Office numbers are not that great in India.
But the film has now completed its theatrical run, and they are running for the OTT release date now. The film will start streaming on Disney+Hotstar on the 6th of September.
But what are the dangers we are concerned about?
You see, OTT is not the same as it used to be 5 years back. Now, there are several restrictions and the platforms need to be very careful with what they are showing.
That’s why some intimate scenes are chopped/blurred and violent scenes suffer the same. On Hotstar, Aranmanai 4 is streaming and the platform simply blurred some frames that could be deemed vulgar.
If that is the case, then Kill as a film will go through harsh scrutiny as the whole film is a blood bath. Let’s hope that we get to see the same film on OTT as people enjoyed on the big screens.
