Daniel Day-Lewis Makes Acting Comeback In Son's Film 'Anemone’

Three-time Academy Award winner and one of the greatest actors of all time, Daniel Day-Lewis, has decided to come out of retirement from acting. His next project will be his son’s movie, Anemone.

Daniel co-wrote the film with his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, who is also directing it. In fact, Ronan is making his directorial debut with this movie. According to the official logline, the film explores the complex relationships between sons, brothers, and fathers.

Anemone marks Day-Lewis’ return to acting after a long gap of seven years. His last feature project was Phantom Thread, helmed by the great Paul Thomas Anderson.

In addition to Day-Lewis, the upcoming drama has talents such as Sean Bean, Samuel Bottomley, Samantha Morton, and Safia Oakley-Green.

Day-Lewis is renowned for his commitment to method acting and has earned three Best Actor Oscars for his portrayals of disabled Irish writer Christy Brown in My Left Foot, oil tycoon Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood, and Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. He had previously stepped away from the industry for extended periods, including spending time in the 1990s working as an apprentice shoemaker in Florence.
