On February 28, Daredevil, Punisher, Jessica Jones and some other Marvel show stopped streaming on Netflix.
It was kind of obvious because Marvel is Disney’s thing and they would never allow Netflix to reap views from it for more than a certain time.
DisneyPlus in the USA, Canada and many countries announced March 16 as the streaming date for those shows while warning to keep checking for local availability.
Nearly 37% of DisneyPlus’s revenue comes from Disney Plus Hotstar (India) and there was nothing to be elated about.
But finally, after 2 long months, the Marvel shows initially streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar are coming.
On May 21, Daredevil along with Jessica Jones, Punisher, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Defenders is coming.
But something is still missing.
It is Agents of SHIELD.
This 7 season show didn’t stream on Netflix India while it did in the USA. Unfortunately, it will not stream on DisneyPlus Hotstar as well while it is streaming in the USA.
Even that was one of the shows which left Netflix to land on DisneyPlus.
Regardless, this is a happy moment for Marvel fans as Disney+Hotstar has a far wider subscriber base than Netflix and the former is the home for most (leaving the Sony-owned films) Marvel content.
Even the dubbing of those shows in Indian languages isn’t clear yet and we’ll update you as soon as the platform confirms.
So the new shows are going to get views which were sort of unimaginable otherwise.
