The much-awaited teaser for ‘Dasara’ has finally been revealed, to the delighted fans of Telugu star Nani. The makers also revealed the release date for Dasara. The crime drama film will arrive in theatres across India on 30th March, as a Ram Navami holiday release.
The Dasara teaser shows off the acting prowess of its lead Nani, who features in a never seen before role in the film. Nani’s bold and bloodied look in the Dasara teaser takes one’s breath away with its sheer gritty nature. The actor has always been seen either in soft, comedy, romantic or sophisticated roles, or in sports dramas, and a stray crime drama film here and there. This is the first time we get to see Nani in the role of a tough rabble-rousing ruffian.
There’s loads of blood, gore and violence in the Dasara teaser, hinting at the dark nature of the story. The background score, by Santhosh Narayanan, is equally edgy and energetic, lending the perfect audio milieu for the teaser to unravel in.
There’s one major drawback to Nani’s look in Dasara. It bears an uncanny and distinct similarity to fellow Telugu star Allu Arjun’s look in 2021 blockbuster ‘Pushpa: The Rule’, including body language, demeanor, dialogue delivery and badass dialogues. Let’s hope the similarity between the two characters doesn’t have a backfire effect on Dasara’s box office collections.
The second drawback of Dasara seems to be its premise – which seems inspired from Kannada star Yash’s KGF film series. While the latter is set in the backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields, Dasara is centered in the Singareni coal mines of Telangana. Both have a power tussle at the core of the story. Again, we hope we’re proved wrong, and Dasara proves to be nothing like either Pushpa or KGF.
The Dasara teaser gives us no glimpse of Keerthy Suresh, the female lead in the movie. Guess we’ll have to wait for the second teaser/trailer of Dasara for a look at Keerthy Suresh’s role in the film. The actress has gone on record to say that Dasara is one of the best roles of her career. We can’t wait to see what magic writer and debutant director Srikanth Odela has conjured with both Nani and Keerthy Suresh’s roles.
Dasara will release as a pan-India film, in the original Telugu language, along with release in multiple Indian languages of Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The film also stars Samuthirakani, Shine Tom Chacko, Dheekshith Shetty, Sai Kumar, Shamna Kasim and Sajol Chowdhury in crucial roles. Dasara is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas, and has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
