It seems like Lucasfilm has learned that trusting Dave Filoni is the best way to save the future of Star Wars. The latest shake-up at the studio is indeed great news for all the upcoming Star Wars projects, including Ahsoka Season 2.
Filoni has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm. It means he will now oversee all the ongoing and forthcoming Star Wars content. This new role also enables the writer, director, and showrunner of Ahsoka to bestow his advice or important insights on all the projects in the space opera franchise. His recent promotion shows how much Lucasfilm and Disney trust him. This scenario also proves that both studios have started believing in his overarching vision for the franchise.
Dave Filoni became a part of the Star Wars franchise back in 2008, through the cult classic The Clone Wars movie. After that, he became one of the executive producers for the hit Clone Wars series (2008-2020). He is also known for his work on Rebels (2014-2018), The Mandalorian and the recently concluded Ahsoka Season 1.
The path for Ahsoka Season 2 looks clear, considering Filoni’s newest promotion. In addition, actress Rosario Dawson recently revealed that Filoni started outlining his ideas for the sophomore entry before the strikes. Fans’ expectations with Season 2 are on a whole new level, given how the previous season ended. The cliffhanger ending of the first season showed Sabine and Ahsoka on Peridea. On the other hand, Ezra and Grand Admiral Thrawn managed to escape from that dangerous planet. All these storylines may conclude satisfyingly in Season 2.
