DC Boots Off Another Star To Uncertainty

Aquaman is indeed the most successful franchise of the DC Universe, but again, the studio is practically nothing without every popular name genuinely interested and determined to take the franchise forward.

As the behind-the-scenes suggested, Momoa was indeed having a fun time but that was very short-lived. As Jason sat down to chat about his latest venture, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” he, along with the fans, fears that it will be his last involvement in the universe.

Cavill and Ben Affleck also shared the same fate as the Aquaman of ‘fans’ Jason hangs up the boot, unwillingly.

“I don’t necessarily want it to be the end… [but] I don’t think it’s really, like, a choice,” but as the universe is getting a reboot, a change of faces is the most understandable one.

“The truth of it is, I mean, if the audience loves it, then there’s a possibility,” Momoa affirms the possibility that he might continue the role in the future. “But right now, I’m like, ‘It’s not looking too good.'”

“I love this character and [I would want to] play it for a long time,” Momoa added. “I kind of see where I would want it to go. And even in the next 10 years or so, like there’s a lot of cool things they can do. And I do enjoy the role and the world. So, I mean, it just comes down to if people love it.”

Momoa definitely showcases a great performance as Aquaman, taking a ‘less-loved’ character to an iconic one, but it becomes unclear what is ahead for the franchise.

Though Momoa will rest his Aquaman side, reports are coming that he will be a part of the future vision of Gunn.

“If there’s a place in their world for me, I would love to be a part of it,” Momoa shared. “This is my home. Warner and DC are definitely my home. So, that’s all I’ll say.”
